Music Video

I am proud to announce that I am the makeup artist and hair stylist for Quietdrive "Jessica" music video.

5 Things a Model Should Know

I can't stress this enough!!! I know I am a fierce makeup artist but I'm not GOD I cant work miracles. These are five things a model should know and do!

1. Carmex, lip gloss, chapstick....embrace it!! Its is your friend not your enemy!

2. I have faced many challenges in my life, but the one thing I CAN NOT tolerate is a shabby eyebrow! Think "arch", if you don't have one, please by all means get one

3. Before a shoot, please remove ALL makeup, especially eyeliner and mascara.

4. Your foundation application is NOT better than mine and that's a guarantee. I am a trained professional and this is my forte.

5. Diva-tudes, please leave these at home! I don't care how BIG you are in this indusrty. No person should be treated or talked with disrespect! We are all here to work....so act professional!!!

This is from my point of view which I'm pretty sure other MUA's would agreee!

Day Two (October 09)

Its was day two of the shoot for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) with photographer Konstantin Golovchinsky. This day went alot smoother then the day before. It was full of drama and chaos. But I am glad to say the outcome was worth it. I felt blessed to work with such a beautiful group of women and a very talented photographer. I woke up that morning knowing it was going to be a good day. Again I was only on makeup duty. Don't think I could have pulled off 20 models in twos days by myself. The hairstylis was a very talanted women. Its always great to see a fellow hair stylist rock their ish. And I have to say we made a pretty damn good team. The picture above is the final product for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). I am proud to say I worked on this project for a great cause

New Year

2010 is finally here.Last time I was on here was way in October. Things got a little busy for me so I wasn't able to update this til now. I have a lot to blog about. Great things have happened to me since my last blog. 2k 10 is going to be a better year for me. Last year I was blessed to work with some amazing people and I only hope to keep working with them. I felt like I grew so much within a year. I became confident as a makeup artist and learned not to second guess myself. Which I often do. As I stated before I am my own worse critic. I've always said my dream was to work full time 24/7 as a makeup artist. After all celebrities don;t wake up looking like that everyday. Some one (which I hope one day will be me) makes them look gorgeously flawless everyday. I only hope I continue to grow in my craft and get a step closer to my dream

Day One

Woke at 6am, Cooked me a big breakfast of scrambled eggs, homemade hash browns and pancakes with a side of fresh queezed orange juice. I needed all the fule I can get since it was going to be a big day for me. I had to be in Los Angeles at 9am. I like to ge there alleast 15 mins before to setup my station. First Model was to show up right at 9 and a model every hour after that. In total there was 10 Models to prep. Thank goodness I was on makeup duty only, or else I would have been in hot water. The shoot was for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and this was day one of the shoot. All in all there was 20 models to do makeup on in two days. The Photographer Konstantin Golovchinsky was amazing to work with. All the 'models' were volunteers and employees of LLS's ad agency RAPP and they were a blast to work with as well. They were the nicest people I have ever met. If only all my shoots were as pleasant as this shoot was. I was looking forward to day two of shooting.

The Prosses

Its been about a week since I last did a photo shoot. And I feel like an addict, I need a fix now! I am a major makeup junkie, so I am ready to get my makeup thang on. This is the longest I have gone with out doing a shoot back to back. I felt like I needed to take some mommy and me time to catch up with my son. And I'm glad I did but this week went by so fast. But now its time to get back to work I need to bring home the bacon in order for us to keep on living. Tomorrow and Sunday are going to be long and exciting days. I'm ready to rock these shoots, I have about 10 models to prep this weekend. And I just relized I forgot to go buy the damn eyelashes. Damn it! Thank goodeness for the 24 hour Walmart near by. I am a perfectionist and I am my own worse critic. There are times where it can be overwhelming and sometimes I feel stuck in my creativity then I'm not satified in my work and so I start to worry. But when the final product is done I am reminded why I love my career so much. I love every bit of going to work. I love the whole prosses of the prepping, the styling, the photo shoot. Watching, being behind the scene. Looking on how the photographer works their magic behind the lense. I love seeing other artist in their natural habitat. Exciting times.

Shoe Fetish part II

or Obsession. When I need some therpy, whats a girl to do....(window) shopping!! Well, latelty it has. Being a single mother with a growing child to raise on my own isn't easy and money is tight. So the closest I have been to actual shopping is going to the nearest Walmart for my son. Its been a looong while since I bought myself something nice. Well besides the dress I bought from a vintage shop and the 24pck of pepsi (that I can't live without) but that doesnt count. I live off of pepsi and that dress was only $2. But thats another story for some other time. And so I bring to you Exzibit B. those beautiful black leather pep toes pumps. There goes that damn voice agian. OH MY EFFIN GOD....I HAVE TO HAVE! BUY ME! BUY ME! BUY ME NOOOW! But these take the cake at $199.
